Summer Learning Academy held at HLO

About 45 children took part in the Heron Lake-Okabena Summer Learning Academy. The project based learning took place over a two week period, and many youngsters and their families take advantage of the course to gear up for the beginning of school.

“It’s an amazing program that we are offering, ‘amping up’ summer school,” explained Alex Stene, one of the HLO teachers involved in creating the Summer Learning Academy.
