SWU B-squad boys hustle to 55-42 victory over MLA

December 26, 2012

Trey Cranston nets 20 points as Wildcats improve to 2-1
Effectively handling Mountain Lake Area’s fullcourt press and then capitalizing with some well-executed double-teaming tactics of its own, the Southwestern United B-squad boys’ basketball team hustled to an impressive 55-42 victory over the Wolverines at Okabena Thursday evening, December 20, in the squad’s home opener. The Wildcats started well, as sophomore Isaac Fest scored the game’s first basket off a steal and layup nine seconds in. A three-point play by sophomore Dakotah Schmid off an assist pass from sophomore Trey Cranston was followed by a corner shot by sophomore Jacob Sydnes (assist Cranston) and the Wildcats had an early 7-2 lead.
