Delores (Dori) M. Hanson, 89, died December 18, 2012 at Mesa, Arizona. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. George Catholic Church in Apache Junction, AZ, with funeral services next spring at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake, MN, with burial in the Heron Lake Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Project Help, 195 E. Superstition Blvd., Apache Junction, AZ 85119 an organization that helps the poor where she volunteered many hours over the years. Delores Wermers was born on May 5, 1923 near Ethan, South Dakota to Anthony and Margaret (Muntefering). She married Robert Hanson February 21, 1944 in Heron Lake, Minnesota. They had one son, Bobby Jo. They lived in Heron Lake most of the time as they had an electrical and plumbing business from 1949 to 1972 in Storden and Heron Lake, Minnesota. After selling their business they started traveling, spending their winter months in Texas for six (6) winters and then in Arizona. After her husband passed away in 2005 she made her home in Apache Junction, Arizona. During their marriage they had jobs at these locations and came back to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in the summers starting in 1974 and worked at Spaders RV and KOA Campground. She spent many hours as a volunteer at various institutions in both Arizona and South Dakota. She is survived by one sister, Loretta Cain, Parkston; three brothers: Alvin Wermers and wife Jeanette, Mitchell; Donald Wermers and wife Verla, Madison, WI; and Robert Wermers and wife Marlene, Sioux Falls and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband and son; her parents; two brothers, Alfred and Norbert and wife Donna (Youngstrom) Wermers; and a brother-in-law, Arthur Cain.
