Back-to-back five-run outputs in the first two innings propelled the Heron Lake Big Mites to a 12-0 victory over Fulda at Fulda last Tuesday afternoon (July 10).
Heron Lake then followed that up with an 8-5 win over Brewster at Brewster Thursday (July 12), improving their Four-Star League record to 8-1.
Andrew Madsen (four strikeouts) and Tyler Brunk (five strikeouts) each pitched two innings in the four-inning game against Fulda. Madsen also went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Brunk walked, was hit by a pitch and scored a run.
