It’s that time of year again when singers, musicians, comedians and entertainers of every age should start planning to put their talents before a live audience! The Jackson County Fair Talent Contest will be on Saturday, July 28, at 3:00 p.m. on the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
Prizes are awarded to the top three winners of each category: Preteen: 12 and under; Teen: 13-18; Open: any age. All first place winners at the county fair level advance to the Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Contest at the Minnesota State Fair which runs August 23 through Labor Day, September 3, 2012.
Performance time limit is four minutes! Points will be deducted for contestants going over the limit. Vocalists using recorded accompaniment cannot have any vocals on the recording. Vocal contestants will be disqualified if accompaniment has vocals of any kind. For recorded accompaniment, a CD is required. Parents, be sure your child's selection is age and contest appropriate!
