The Heron Lake Area Veterans Memorial plans are underway. With assistance from the Legion and Auxiliary Posts, volunteers are preparing information for area citizens.
A copy of the information that has been compiled, along with an order form, can be found on the back page of this issue.
The memorial will honor veterans, past and present, who have served in any branch of the service, whether in wartime or in peacetime.
The committee's goal is for completion of the memorial sometime during 2014. After completion of the veteran's memorial, there will be a grand opening ceremony. To honor our veteran's legacy, we are committed to making this memorial a beautiful and spiritual place for people to visit and reflect on our veteran's sacrifice and dedication.
