| Miss Teen Minnesota offers a chance at scholarships, cash prizes, advance to national competition and a modeling contract. Brewster resident Mariah Feehan is pursuing the opportunity to become Miss Teen Minnesota. Mariah learned about the competition a couple years ago, and decided to apply. Contest officials have accepted her application as a state finalist for this year. Held July 27-29 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bloomington, categories of competition are personal introduction, formal wear, communication skills and community involvement project. Each of the first three sections account for thirty percent of the total score, while the last section accounts for the final ten percent. Contestants are asked to introduce themselves at the onset of the competition, where they are judged on their public speaking ability and poise. A formal wear competition follows on the first day of competition.
