142nd Annual Jackson County Fair Events

The annual Jackson County Fair is scheduled for another year.
The annual Jackson County Fair is scheduled for another year. The fair will start on July 27, and end around August 1, of 2010. This fair has six days that are full of events for everyone to enjoy. The fair is located in Jackson, Minnesota at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Heres a look at the events taking place during this week. On Wednesday, July 28, the 4-H Sheep, Lamb Lead, and Big Gain Lamb Show will start off the day at 8:00 a.m. During this show, Open Class Judging will take place again, but this time from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (The building will be closed during the judging time). All the livestock will be in place at noon. The 4-H Market Goat Show will take place at 1:30 p.m. Then after that, the FFA Sheep, Dairy, and Beef Shows will happen at 3:00 p.m. The 4-H will hold their Rabbit Show with open class rabbit following. The Rabbit Show will begin at 4:00 p.m. The Beer Garden will be open for people starting at 5:00 p.m. and ending at midnight. The 4-H food stand will have a FREE Sweet Corn Feed, starting at 5:00 p.m. and they will serve until all the corn is gone. The Winners’ Circle from 4-H will happen at 6:30 p.m. Then after the Winners’ Circle, 4-H will hold their Fashion Revue at 7:00 p.m. The last thing of the second day of the fair will be the Tractor Pull at 7:00 p.m. to end the day of events. On the third day, Thursday, July 29, the 4-H Beef Show and Co-op Calves will begin at 8:00 a.m. After that, at 1:00 p.m., the 4-H Poultry Show with open class following will take place. The FREE watermelon feed will start at 4:00 p.m. and will serve until they are all gone. The 4-H Pet and Cat Show will begin at 5:00 p.m. The Beer Garden will be happening again starting at 5:00 p.m. until midnight. The 4-H Dairy and Dairy Goat Show will begin at 7:00 p.m. To end the night, the Demolition Derby will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. On Friday, July 30, the 4-H Swine Show with the FFA Swine Show following will take place at 7:30 a.m. The Jackson County Day Care Day will begin at 8:00 a.m, and also Senior Citizens’ Day, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. FREE rolls will be given out at the Senior Center from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The 4-H Horse Show will be at 3:00 p.m., with the 4-H Llama Show at 5:00 p.m. The Beer Garden will be serving another night from 5:00 p.m. until midnight again. The Ribeye Steak Supper will last from 5:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. The PowerPlay Concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. to end the night. The Omelet Fundraiser, at the 4-H food stand will begin the days events on Saturday, July 31. The Omelet Fundraiser will begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at noon. The 4-H Livestock/ Premium Auction and KWOA/ JBS Auction will be held at 8:30 a.m. The Tractor and Gas Engine Show will be from 10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Perry Allen/Bill Edlin Memorial Tractor Display Show will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. 4-H Premier Showmanship Contest will be at noon. The Prairie Ecology Bus will be on the fairgrounds from noon until 8:00 p.m. Go-kart Races will take place on Saturday also. Hot laps and registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the races to begin after that. Ladies’ Day at the Anderson Building will be at 1:00 p.m. Perry Allen/Bill Edlin Memorial Tractor Parade will start at 1:30 p.m. The 4-H Cloverbud Horse Show will be at 2:00 p.m., with the Talent Show to follow at 3:00 p.m. The Jackson Speedway Hall of Fame Ceremony will be at 4:00 p.m. with refreshments to follow. The Beer Garden is still serving from 5:00 p.m.- midnight again. Jackson County Open Class Sheep Show will be at 5:30 p.m. The Races at the Jackson Speedway will begin around 7:00 p.m., with Fireworks to follow the races. On Sunday, August 1, the Saddle Club Horse Show will start at 9:00 a.m. The Recognition Show will be at 9:30 a.m. The Perry Allen/Bill Edlin Memorial Tractor Display Show will be from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Church Program will take place at 10:30 a.m. The Pork Chop Dinner at the 4-H food stand will be from 11:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. The Kids’ Pedal Tractor Pull will start at noon. Bull Riding will be at 1:30 p.m. with admission prices. The 4-H Olympics will be at 3:00 p.m. The release of all exhibits will be at 4:00 p.m. to end the Jackson County Fair in 2010. The Jackson County Fair is open to the whole public to come and enjoy a week full of events. Come to the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Jackson to see lots of entertainment!
