Plans are falling into place for the upcoming benefit for Quintin Willhite. The Heron Lake Fire Department will have a pancake breakfast on Sunday, August 1, to benefit the family.
The son of Jason and Misty Willhite and the grandson of Melvin and Bev Willhite, Lamberton, and Paul and Jean Leopold, Heron Lake, Quintin was born on June 2, 2010.
Presently, Quintin is hospitalized in Minneapolis. Several surgeries have already taken place and more are to come in the future months. The benefit is to help with the medical expenses and other expenses for the Willhite family. In addition to the pancake breakfast, which is for a free will offering, there will be a silent auction with numerous items. Make plans now to attend and bid on the items being donated.
Bags of Pioneer brand seed corn and tickets to two different Timberwolves games are already on the auction. There are also two Dewalt Cordless Drill Sets valued at $300 each and $100 worth of New Holland Farm Toys.
Gift cards for area restaurants, including Dundee Steakhouse, the Jack Slade Steakhouse, the Eagles and the Silver Bucket will be available for purchase.
There is a quilt, blanket, afghan, embroidered dish towels, bracelets, t-shirts, sweatshirts and ornaments, including lawn ornaments from Runnings. A wide variety of gift baskets will be available, as will certificates for area businesses.
Certificates for hair cuts from many area stylists, cosmetics and jewelry can be bid on at the silent auction. Oil changes, wine baskets and tickets to the November performance of the Green Earth Players in Luverne have also been donated.
