We had a fantastic turn-out for the recent a.m. Red Cross Blood Drive on July 7, 2010. Our goal is 71 but we had a surprising 78 total. There are so many people that get involved in the actual bloodmobile; the volunteers: Hardee’s in Windom donated the orange juice, United Methodist Church donated the delicious supper for the workers, Heron Lake Legion Auxiliary for the yummy food served at the Canteen- The greeter, Viola Liepold, and all the Heron Lake/ Okabena blood donors who are heroes beyond words. They truly know what saving lives means.
There were five first time donors: Patrick Gais, William Stewart, Gwen Kraft, Tyler Timko, Mary Mathias.
Those receiving gallon Red Cross pin were: Frances Harmes with 12 gallons, and Steve Hussong with 11 gallons.
Thanks!
