1907 Isabelle Haberman 2005 Isabelle Anna Fest Haberman, daughter of Matt and Elizabeth (Bauer) Fest, was born on November 11, 1907 on her parents’ farm in LaCrosse Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. Isabelle grew up on the family farm and attended country school and Sacred Heart Parochial School in Heron Lake in 1926. Following her education, Isabelle was employed by Protecto Manufacturing of Heron Lake and Owatonna, Minnesota. She married Henry Paul Haberman on September 24, 1929 in Owatonna. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in Alba Township, Jackson County until 1963, at which time they moved to Heron Lake. Isabelle then worked at the Heron Lake State Bank for 13 years. Mr. Haberman passed away on October 20, 1983 and Isabelle continued to live in her home. She entered Lakeview Manor in Heron Lake and resided there from 1994 to 2005. She then moved to Valley View Assisted Living in Lakefield in November of 2005.

Isabelle was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake and was active in Ladies Aid and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was an outstanding basketball player in high school.

Isabelle passed away on Tuesday afternoon December 20, 2005 at the Jackson Medical Center in Jackson. She was 98 years, 1 month and 9 days old.

Isabelle is survived by a son Roger and his wife Berenice Haberman of Lenexa, Kansas; two daughters Joan Anderson of Eagan, Minnesota and Lucia Preuss of Crosslake, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, a daughter Jean Reichel, son-in-law Robert Anderson and a grandson Michael Anderson.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 23, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Heron Lake, Minnesota, Fr. Andrew Olsem, celebrant. Internment was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Heron Lake, Minnesota.
